Duncanville and North Crowley face a top-five matchup in the semifinals of the Texas High School Football Playoff

The UIL Texas State Football Championships have now reached the semifinals in all six classifications – and the game of the year may be coming up in the Lone Star State this week.

There are only four teams left in Division I Class 6A, two of which are in the top five for the state championship On3 Composite Rankings. They will compete against each other on Saturday when Duncanville And North Crowley Compete for a spot in the championship game.

Both Panthers will enter the showdown undefeated, with Duncanville at 13-0 while North Crowley is 14-0. Duncanville is fighting for its third straight state title, while North Crowley looks to avenge its loss to Duncanville in last year’s semifinals.

Duncanville has been considered the best team in the state all season and is currently ranked No. 2 nationally in the On3 Composite Rankings. North Crowley also remained at the top throughout the fall and is currently ranked No. 4 nationally and No. 2 nationally.

Predicting Massey Ratings: Duncanville 42, North Crowley 34

Duncanville boasts the best one-two punch in the country with Alabama Five-Star Plus+ QB signee Keelon Russell and Oregon Five-Star Plus+ WR signee Dakorien Moore. Russell is the favorite to win Gatorade National Player of the Year honors, having thrown for 3,600 yards and 52 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Moore has over 1,200 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns.

Due to the focus on Russell and Moore, Duncanville also has an underrated defense, having not allowed more than two touchdowns in a game 10 times this year. North Crowley will look to challenge that this weekend.

Colorado three-star WR signee Quentin Gibson has 81 receptions for 1,721 yards and 31 scores this fall. Crowley also boasts an elite offensive line led by five-star junior tackles John Turntine III and Missouri Three Star IOL signee Henry Fenuku. The offense has scored more than 50 points in 10 games this season.

The winner of Saturday’s duel will face the winner of North bank against Westlakethe No. 3 and No. 6 teams in the state according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
