During the ongoing FBI investigation, the public warned of a heavy police presence in Natick

The public is being warned of increased police activity in a Natick neighborhood Monday as part of an ongoing FBI investigation.

Natick police told Boston 25 News that officers are assisting the U.S. Attorney’s Office with “vehicle and pedestrian management” as part of an “ongoing investigation focused on public safety” in the area of Woodland Street between Juniper and Clover Lane.

An FBI Boston spokesman said federal investigators were “conducting court-authorized activities.”

Police determined there was no immediate threat to the community at this time.

Residents have been asked to avoid the area and not share unconfirmed information on social media.

“We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time,” the department said in a statement. “Updates will be posted as they become available. Please avoid calling the department for further information.”

Details about the nature of the investigation were not clear.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
