Eagles QB leaves game against Commanders

LANDOVER, Md. – Jalen Hurts was ordered to leave the game to be evaluated for a concussion suffered in the first quarter.

Kenny Pickett took over and capped the touchdown drive with a 3-yard pass to AJ Brown, giving the Eagles a 14-0 lead with 7:08 left in the first quarter.

Hurts was later ruled out, making it the first time this season that Hurts missed more than one game due to injury.

Hurts was injured on a 13-yard run up the middle when he was hit in the head by Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu as he dove for the Commanders’ 21-yard line. The referee ordered Hurts to leave the game, but he refused and went back to the pitch.
