Eagles superstar Saquon Barkley can still make NFL history

The Philadelphia Eagles still have three games left and there is still a chance that the superstar running back can make history in the National Football League.

One thing that’s been fun about this Eagles team so far, especially in the second half of the season, is the fact that Barkley is chasing history. In addition to the typical wins and losses, there is another little thing to watch out for every week.

Barkley had a quiet game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15 and it didn’t help that he missed some time during the game after going to the medical tent. Although this is the case, Barkley still has a chance at history.

As it stands, Barkley has 1,688 rushing yards and 1,964 rushing yards. At this point, he is 417 rushing yards shy of Eric Dickerson’s record of 2,105 yards in a season and 545 yards shy of Chris Johnson’s record of 2,509 yards in a season.

Barkley is currently averaging 120.57 rushing yards per game and 140.28 scrimmage yards per game. This would put him on pace for 2,049.69 rushing yards and 2,384.76 scrimmage yards. Reaching 120 rushing yards and 140 total scrimmage yards in a game is no joke. It’s difficult enough, but Barkley has games where he significantly exceeded those numbers.

Barkley had 302 yards from scrimmage on November 24th, 198 scrimmage yards on November 14th and 199 scrimmage yards on November 3rd. If he could have a similar game to those three over the next three weeks, that would give him a chance.

It won’t be easy, but he can’t be ruled out for either album, even if the top record seems more likely.
