Eagles Unleash “Playoff Plan” Against Pittsburgh Steelers

PITTSBURGH – The Philadelphia Eagles are the hottest team in football. With a nine-game winning streak, the Eagles are the toughest team remaining on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ schedule to clinch a playoff spot this weekend.

The Eagles’ only concern lately has been their passing game, which struggled quite a bit against the Carolina Panthers last week.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there are plans to address those concerns starting with the game against the Steelers. During an appearance on SportsCenter, Fowler previewed the game, focusing on the Eagles’ offensive game plan.

“The Eagles’ pre-playoff plan for quarterback Jalen Hurts is in place. Teams know you can’t win big if you can’t pass the ball in December and January,” Fowler said. “At least with the Eagles and around the league, there’s a feeling that Hurts can and will play better. So expect, and the Steelers expect, Hurts to get some easy, quick throws early in the game. Whether it’s a few crossing routes or a few off-kilter things that get him going, especially with AJ Brown.

The Steelers’ secondary has had quite a roller coaster ride this year, with some weeks being the defense’s biggest strength and others being a liability. Now the Steelers will face an offense that, on paper, should present one of their toughest challenges through the air.

Luckily for the Steelers, the short pass game plan puts more pressure on the linebackers than the deep ball. In this case, the Steelers’ linebacker group consistently ranks at the top and should cause Hurts some problems during the game. The Steelers’ biggest focus should be the running game, as Saquon Barkley posted MVP numbers in his first year with the Eagles.
