Chelsea are alone in second place and look like real contenders for the Premier League trophy.

What did Maresca say? Below you will find the Italian’s thoughts.

Enzo Maresca reaction – How did Chelsea coach react to the comeback at Tottenham?

How much does it mean to the fans? “For the fans, for us. I said it during the week that we work every day to make our fans happy. They can be happy today.”

“To come to this stadium against this team, 2-0 down, and carry on with the same plan on and off the ball. Overall, we deserved the win.”

Was it frustrating that Cucurella slipped and had to change shoes on Spurs’ first goal? “It’s more of a question for Marc. They are mature enough to decide what shoes they need for the game. It can happen. The most important thing is that we were two goals down, conceded two goals and kept going and made many, many changes.”

Why the half-time substitutions? “We had a problem with Romeo Lavia, so Malo Gusto was in there. We moved Moises to central midfield. The change was good.”

Romeo Lavia injury update: “(Lavia) had problems with his hamstring, but he’s fine now. We don’t want to take any risks in December, especially with so many games. Sometimes it’s better to lose 45 minutes than 5 or 6 games.”

On his confidence against Cole Palmer at the penalty spot: “I knew that from Cole a long time ago. I trust him in every way. Fantastic boy, fantastic guy. He has to learn when to be the man throughout the game. Yves Bissouma today.”

About the title chances: “No, the plan or idea is not to allow them to slow down. Day after day, in every meeting, they can’t slow down because if one person drops out, someone is waiting to take their place.”

“Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, they don’t slide like Cucurella. But seriously, we are far from ready, far from this team, we are focused day by day on improving the team and playing the game.”
