EPL Schedule – December – FantraxHQ

There are numerous EPL games in December. Teams play six games in December, with several sets of games midweek.

Let’s take a look back at our November recommendations. Manchester United won two out of three games and tied the third game, outscoring their opponents 8-1. Wolves won the first two and lost the third, giving them some hope at the bottom of the table. Aston Villa only picked up a single point and were eliminated in the two defeats. Manchester City lost all three games in November (including December 1), scoring just one goal. This shows that no team is immune to touch plays.

For each team you can see the game week, date, opponent, whether it is a home or away game and the opponent’s position in the league table at the time of writing.

Here are the teams with the best EPL games in December. These players have added value depending on who they play against.

arsenal

Arsenal have an extremely positive record in December despite facing Manchester United at home. After this opening game they face a number of comparatively easier opponents including Fulham away, Everton at home and Crystal Palace away. The month gets even better with a home game against newly promoted Ipswich Town before Brentford play away in the New Year. Bukayo Saka looks set to continue his great success during this time, while Martin Odegaard has helped them get back on track. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães and the Arsenal defense could keep clean sheets against the lower-placed teams, and Arsenal’s set-pieces increase their chances of scoring a set-piece goal or two.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s December schedule offers plenty of opportunities to pick up points, starting with an away game at struggling Southampton. While the away game at Tottenham is a challenge, they then have a good run with Brentford at home, followed by games against Everton, Fulham and Ipswich Town. The Blues’ attack of Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer has been in excellent form and should be enjoyable against these opponents, particularly in the home games. Chelsea’s first clean sheet since September against Aston Villa shows promising signs for their defense and this month’s fixtures should provide plenty of opportunities for Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella and the rest of the Chelsea defense to add to their clean sheet record.

These teams have tough EPL games coming up in December, so be careful when looking at the players here.

Everton

Everton face one of their toughest schedules anywhere in December. Having started bottom of the table with a home game against Wolves, they have a massive run ahead which includes the Merseyside derby against Liverpool, away games at Arsenal and Manchester City and a home game against Chelsea. Although they finish at home against Nottingham Forest, the previous games are extremely challenging and you shouldn’t expect a great performance from your Everton players. Dwight McNeil and James Tarkowski are Everton’s two best players and have been consistent despite the tough matches, but I would try to avoid a lot of Everton streamers and starters after their game against Wolves.

Fulham

Fulham’s December looks like a manager’s nightmare as they battle their way through a clash of top-six opponents. They start at home with Brighton before facing Arsenal and Liverpool in quick succession. While they play Southampton at home, they then face Chelsea away before finishing against Bournemouth. Fulham have proven they can compete with any team in the league, but fantasy managers should temper their expectations during this challenging month. Alex Iwobi has been crucial to the creativity in the midfield while Raul Jimenez is getting back to his goalscoring prowess. Both could see limited opportunities against the strong defenses of Arsenal and Liverpool. Antonee Robinson’s attacking runs and crossing skills make him a consistent points scorer, but keeping a clean sheet could be difficult against such strong opposition.

Nothing in the EPL is certain, but matchups are important.
