Fantasy Football RB Rankings Week 14: Who should start, best sleepers, waiver of wire picks at running back

Fantasy Football RB Rankings Week 14: Who should start, best sleepers, waiver of wire picks at running back

Saquon Barkley vs. Derrick Henry was the main matchup many were focused on in the late afternoon of Sunday’s games. Even though neither running back was freaked out, both continued to thrive on the ground, surpassing what the rest of the league did against both defenses. Ultimately, however, it was Barkley who not only racked up more yards (107-82) but was also the only RB to reach pay dirt, and he was able to come away with the win and keep Philadelphia within one game of the No. 1 Detroit Lions. 1 in NFC.

Even though the Panthers have improved greatly in recent weeks since Bryce Young’s return, they still have major problems on defense, especially against the run. And that was the case again compared to the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay rushed for 236 yards while Bucky Irving converted 23 carries into 152 yards. Even Rachaad White averaged 6.9 yards per carry while rushing for 76 yards on just 11 carries. Speaking of Saquon, he meets the Panthers this week in a place that could explode.

With six teams on byes again this week, many fantasy managers will be running into some lineup issues this week. This is where the rankings come into play. Whether you’re trying to determine your next forgiveness claim or figure out who to include in your flex, looking at these rankings will help you make the right decision.

Who are the best fantasy RBs for Week 14?

Saquon Barkley is a good chance to be the top running back any week, but this week the Eagles host the Panthers and should be the heavy favorite. Make sure the Eagles lean on Saquon Barkley to do a lot of the heavy lifting on offense. The only thing that could limit him is if the Eagles run away with it and give the starters a break late. But even if that’s the case, Barkley will likely have contributed a lot to the big lead.

If Barkley and Derrick Henry didn’t have such a monster season, we would be hearing a lot more about what Josh Jacobs did for the Packers. Jacobs is third in the league in rushing with 987 yards and has scored up to nine total touchdowns this season. Jacobs will face the Lions on Thursday Night Football as both teams will play for the second straight game on Thursday. The Packers were impressive with their win over the Dolphins, while the Lions were lucky to escape with a win over the Bears. Green Bay will want to keep the ball out of the hands of Detroit’s offense, and the best way to do that is to watch the running game.

De’Vachane ran for just 14 yards on seven carries against the Packers on Thanksgiving night, but also managed eight catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. Since Tua Tagovailoa returned, Achane has become an important part of the passing game. Even if the Dolphins fail to get anything going on the ground, Achane remains in the game as a dangerous threat in the passing game. Achane should be a key part of the game plan again when Miami takes on the Jets this week.

Who are the RBs getting byes in Week 14?

Denver Broncos: Javonte Williams, Audric Estime, Jaleel McLaughlin

Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Taylor, Trey Sermon

New England Patriots: Rhamondre Stevenson, Antonio Gibson

Washington commanders: Brian Robinson, Jeremy McNichols, Chris Rodriguez

Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry, Justice Hill

Houston Texans: Joe Mixon, Dameon Pierce

Who are the best fantasy RB waiver pickups for Week 14?

The Commanders have a bye this week, but we also know that Austin Ekeler is on the IR as he deals with concussion issues. Chris Rodriguez entered Week 13 with zero percent from Yahoo! leagues, but he was impressive against the Titans, rushing for 94 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. That was good for 7.2 yards per carry. This was a slam dunk, but Rodriguez has shown enough effort that there’s a chance he can still be part of the game plan, especially since Brian Robinson has also been pretty banged up this season.

Similar to Rodriguez, acquiring Sincere McCormick from the Raiders is a long shot, but the potential rewards outweigh the acquisition of Handcuffs, who may not be seen on the field much and would be more of a ground game. Alexander Mattison and Zamir White sat out for the second straight game in Week 13, and McCormick now has 97 yards on 17 carries, an impressive average of 5.7 yards per carry. Even with Mattison, White and current starter Ameer Abdullah all healthy, McCormick has shown enough ability to eat up that workload.

Who are the best fantasy RB sleepers for Week 14?

Breece Hall struggled with a knee injury that led to the Jets’ Week 13 loss to the Seahawks, but was ultimately able to play. He left slightly early at half-time, fueling speculation he may have aggravated his injury, but he continued to play in the second half. However, Hall isn’t at 100 percent yet and Braelon Allen should continue to see enough touches to give him value in his own right, especially since the Dolphins’ best way to attack is on the floor.

Tyrone Tracy is now the Giants’ starter, but Brian Daboll is still a fan of Devin Singletary, as their time together dates back to their days in Buffalo. In addition, Tracy faced some problems. In fact, Tracy had nine carries on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys, which was just two more than Singletary’s seven. Singletary is far from the most exciting player in the league, but if he can continue to work on Tracy’s effort, he could have a good day against the Saints.

What are the biggest RB injuries in Week 14?

As previously mentioned, Alexander Mattison and Zamir White continue to battle injuries for the Raiders. Mattison is battling an ankle injury while White is sidelined with a quadriceps injury. Mattison was closer to returning than White in Week 13, but we’ll discount both for now.

JK Dobbins is dealing with a knee injury, and while there doesn’t appear to be any long-term concerns, the Chargers are playing it safe and placing him on IR. He could return for the home stretch of the fantasy playoffs, but Dobbins managers need to find alternatives for now.

Christian McCaffrey had to leave the Snowglobe game against the Bills on Sunday Night Football with a knee injury, and it was later reported that he had suffered a PCL injury. While the length of his absence is currently uncertain, there is a possibility that he will miss the remainder of the season.

To make matters worse, it was announced on Monday that Jordan Mason, who would be the next man in line, suffered a severe ankle sprain and is also going on IR. That means Isaac Guerendo is the next man up, and versatile fullback Kyle Juszczyk could also see further opportunities.
