FC Bayern: Kane makes a comeback

As expected, striker Harry Kane celebrates his comeback for FC Bayern in the top game in the Bundesliga against RB Leipzig (8.30 p.m./Sat.1 and DAZN). At the end of the year, the 31-year-old is in the early days of coach Vincent Kompany after recovering from a “small” muscle fiber tear.

Full-back Alphonso Davies has also recovered from his muscle injury and is available from the start, while defender Dayot Upamecano is also ready again after his break at FSV Mainz 05 (1:2). Serge Gnabry, who was sidelined due to knee problems, is not in the squad despite Kompany’s prognosis. On the other hand, national player David Raum is at least back in the squad at Leipzig.

Kane sustained the injury in the Bundesliga classic at Borussia Dortmund (1-1). He therefore missed the cup duel with Bayer Leverkusen (0:1), the league games against 1. FC Heidenheim (4:2) and in Mainz as well as the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk (5:1).

In Mainz, Kompany lost seven other players in addition to Kane. Against Leipzig he will have to do without seven professionals: Gnabry, goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman, Hiroki Ito, Josip Stanisic, Joao Palhinha and Sacha Boey.
