ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) – FIRST ALERT 7 Forecast for Thursday, December 26, 2024: Thursday will be a sunny and pleasant day across West Texas and southeastern New Mexico.

Overnight temperatures will cool to 30 to 40 degrees with mostly clear skies. A cold front will move through the region overnight bringing clarity, with sunny skies expected across the region on Thursday. Very low rain chances are possible for the far northeastern Permian Basin, but most of the region remains dry. Temperatures will remain cooler Thursday, with highs in the 60s and 70s across West Texas and southeastern New Mexico. Midland is aiming for a high of 63 degrees, while Odessa is aiming for a high of 64 degrees. The wind is mostly light, between 10 and 15 miles per hour. Wind speeds between 10 and 25 miles per hour are expected at higher elevations.

A warming trend begins Thursday and will continue through the end of 2024. A cold front on Monday will cool things down just in time heading into 2025, but conditions will still remain near normal for this time of year. Conditions will remain dry in 2025.
