Five more Marvel Rivals heroes were just surprisingly revealed

The Marvel Rivals The launch trailer is here and it contains some incredibly surprising reveals. NetEase Games has revealed five more comic book heroes coming to the Overwatch competitor, including some fan favorites that we’ll be playing in the free-to-play game soon. The hype is growing and I can’t wait to get in soon.

With the Marvel Rivals release date just a few days away, developer NetEase Games has decided to give us one last surprise by completing the list. That’s right, another five heroes have been added to the Marvel Rivals character roster (well, technically six), bringing the total number of playable characters to 33 so far. The best part is that we already know that every single hero in the multiplayer game will be available for free.

So if you think there’s a distinct lack of a short, furry Canadian who calls everyone “Bub” at every opportunity, then this is the Marvel Rivals trailer for you.

New Marvel Rivals characters revealed

According to the new Marvel Rivals launch trailer, the next five characters announced are as follows.

  • Iron Fist
  • Black widow
  • Cloak and dagger
  • Squirrel Girl
  • wolverine

At the moment it’s unclear what role – either Vanguard, Duelist or Strategist – any of these five characters will play or how they will play, but I expect we’ll find out more once the game is fully released. It looks like Cloak and Dagger will be playing as one hero, as the trailer only ever shows them both acting as one.

By far the best moment in the trailer comes towards the end, when Wolverine and Hulk team up for the ever-iconic fastball special, which sends Wolverine flying through the air at high speeds. I would imagine this is one of Wolverine’s team-up moves, which is a Marvel Rivals feature where certain heroes work together for special attacks. For example, Rocket Raccoon can jump onto Groot’s shoulder and shoot at enemies from an elevated position.

If you can’t wait for the release, we’ve also compiled everything we know about the launch of Marvel Rivals season 1, as well as possible Marvel Rivals events that could take place after the game’s release.
