
Flavor Flav claimed that NBC security kicked him out of the Backstreet Boys’ dressing room at the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting.
In an X post that has since been deleted, the 65-year-old hip-hop icon wrote on Wednesday, December 4, “I’m feeling weird… I was invited to the Rockefeller Tree Lighting tonight and was escorted to my boys …THE BACKSTREET.” GUYS…and we were backstage in their dressing room…Security came up to me and said @nbc doesn’t want me in that area and I have to leave.”
“At the same time… her social media wife came to me and asked me to capture social content. What have I ever done with NBC or anyone? he continued. “I always just try to spread joy and love… and I think I did that for NBC at the Olympics.”
After deleting the post, Flav later shared via X: “I deleted the tweet… but my spirit is broken.”
In a subsequent tweet he said Taste of love star shared a short video of himself enjoying the tree lighting on Wednesday, writing, “Christmas in the city… is nothing like the tree lighting in Rockefeller.” ”
Us weekly has reached out to NBC for comment.
The Backstreet Boys joined as hosts Kelly Clarkson for Wednesday’s tree lighting, which was broadcast live on NBC. They performed Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Carol (Merry Christmas to You)”. Additional musical guests included Raye, Jennifer Hudson and Little Big Town.
Meanwhile, Flav recently revealed that he didn’t know the actress and singer Selena Gomez is best friends with his favorite pop star, Taylor Swift.
In November, Flav uploaded a GIF via X of Gomez talking to Swift. In the video, Swift appears shocked by what Gomez says. “I found out Taylor and Selena are best friends,” he captioned the clip.
