Florida serial criminal arrested for the 35th time after stealing a car while fleeing police

According to police, 31-year-old Kevin Campana was arrested for the 35th time in Volusia County on Dec. 23 after he stole a car and attempted to elude officers.

According to Edgwater police, Campana broke into Hibiscus Wholesale Auto Parts Inc. on Monday and stole a car without wearing shoes.

Officials say Campana tried to elude police during a chase that ended in a head-on collision with a K-9 unit car.

Edgewater police say Campana has been charged with multiple crimes related to burglary, theft and attempting to flee police.

Campana had reportedly been arrested 34 times previously.

According to police, Campana was most recently out of bail after being arrested on Dec. 18 for an attempted burglary at a Mullinax Ford car dealership in central Florida.

Records show he was first arrested on September 18, 2011, when he was 18 years old. A majority of the documented arrests involve burglary charges.
