Florida woman stabbed 14 times in front of her daughter over pizza tip

A woman was stabbed 14 times in front of her 5-year-old daughter after 22-year-old Brianna Alvelo became upset over a bad tip from a pizza delivery driver, according to documents obtained by WESH 2. The incident occurred late Sunday evening at the Riviera Motel on E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in Kissimmee, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said. Officers responded to the motel, where they found the victim lying on the bed with stab wounds to his chest, arms, legs and stomach, documents said. The woman was taken to hospital where she underwent surgery for a ruptured lung. The woman’s boyfriend told officers he was at the motel with his girlfriend and her daughter to celebrate his birthday. They had ordered a pizza from Marcos Pizza Shop that cost $33.10, according to documents. The victim handed Alvelo, who delivered the pizza, $50 in cash and demanded change. Alvelo told the woman she had no change, so the woman searched her wallet and car for smaller bills. The victim told officers that she ended up giving Alvelo a $2 tip and Alvelo walked away and rolled his eyes, documents said. A short time later, the victim heard a loud knock on the door. At that point, police say, a man and woman in masks entered the motel room with a gun, told the friend to go to the bathroom and began going through the victim’s belongings and closing the 5-year-old’s Nintendo Switch destroy. The victim said that she turned away from the masked woman, later identified as Alvelo, to protect her daughter. Then the victim felt a hard blow on his back and saw blood. According to the documents, the victim tried to get to her phone, but Alvelo took it and smashed it. The victim said Alvelo stopped attacking her when the masked man said it was time to leave. Officers were able to identify Alvelo on video and the vehicle she used to make the delivery matched the vehicle the masked duo was driving when they returned to the motel room. The pizzeria confirmed that Alvelo had delivered pizzas that evening. Alvelo faces counts of home invasion with a firearm, attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault. She was booked into the Osceola County Jail without bail, OCSO said. The male suspect has not been identified, OCSO said.
