Former Penn State QB Beau Pribula plans transfer portal visits to 2025 Big Ten opponents

Former Penn State backup quarterback Beau Pribula is narrowing down his options after announcing his decision to enter the transfer portal.

According to 247 Sports, Pribula visited Missouri this week and is scheduled to visit Indiana, Iowa and UCF.

It was previously reported that Pribula had been in contact with Iowa, UCF and Missouri. Indiana will be looking for a new quarterback since Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke is no longer eligible.

Interestingly, Indiana is scheduled to play Penn State at Beaver Stadium next season. The Nittany Lions and Hoosiers are scheduled to face off on November 8, 2025.

Penn State will also play Iowa next season and face the Hawkeyes on October 18, 2025.

Pribula announced Sunday that he is entering the transfer portal and will not be at Penn State during the College Football Playoff. His announcement came shortly before Monday’s news that Penn State starter Drew Allar is expected to return for the 2025 season.

The former Central York star was a versatile change for Penn State and punter Andy Kotelnicki. Pribula rushed for 242 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Nittany Lions keep their opponents on their heels. He recorded 187 offensive shots this season.

Pribula also provided Allar with experienced cover. He filled in for the injured Allar twice: last year against Rutgers and this season at Wisconsin. Pribula won both games.

James Franklin spoke at length Monday afternoon after Pribula made what the quarterback called an “impossible decision” to leave Penn State ahead of the CFP. The fact that the transfer portal was open during the current season caused difficulties for the former Penn State backup.

“I can give you my word, Beau Pribula did not want to leave our program until the end of the season,” Franklin said. “But the way the portal is, the timing, the way our team plays, and when you play the quarterback position and there’s only one spot and those spots are getting filled more and more, he felt , as if he had reached a dead end. Win situation and I agree with him.

“…Beau Pribula is a wonderful young man. And I would recruit him every year. Knowing everything I know now, I would recruit Beau with all my might. Beau grew up wanting to come to Penn State his whole life. This is his dream school. And he had a phenomenal career here. And most of all, I want everyone to understand that.”
