Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has died at the age of 92

Former Prime Minister and Congress veteran Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and veteran Congressman passed away on Thursday. According to AIIMS sources, his condition was critical and he was being treated by a team of several doctors. The reason for his hospitalization was initially unknown.

Manmohan Singh was India’s only Sikh prime minister, entering the Rajya Sabha in 1991, not long after becoming finance minister under the PV Narasimha Rao government in June that year. He represented Assam in the Upper House for five terms before shifting to Rajasthan in 2019.

His last words in Parliament were a sharp criticism of demonetisation, describing it as a “sanctioned and lawful crackdown”.
