Fortnite is hosting a virtual concert today in honor of the late rapper Juice WRLD

Fortnite ends its current chapter with a live concert featuring music from the late rapper Juice WRLD as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Ice Spice. The Remix: The Finale in-game event begins at 2:00 p.m. ET, but we encourage you to register early to ensure you arrive on time. FortniteThe tribute to Juice WRLD began earlier this month with a Juice WRLD skin and a series of related items.

Juice WRLD (Jarad Higgins) died in 2019 at the age of 21, and while the practice of using a celebrity’s digital likeness after their death generally irritates me, he was apparently a huge star Fortnite Fan, so this collaboration at least seems to make sense. His mother, Carmela Wallace, said in a statement shared by Epic: “Jarad has always loved to play Fortnite – For him it was more than just entertainment, it was a way to connect with others. From a young age, video games played an important role for him in bonding with and interacting with friends and family Fortnite is an incredible tribute to this connection.”

The rapper’s estate has released three posthumous albums since his death, and another new track, “Empty Out Your Pockets,” will premiere at the Fortnite Event. “I know he would be overjoyed to see his love of games continue to bring people together across spaces just like his music does,” Wallace said. The event will also premiere a new single from Snoop Dogg called “Another Part of Me,” which also features Sting. If you miss the live event, Epic plans to do an encore later in the day barring any technical issues.
