It’s not like I don’t remember them, of course. It’s just that after November 5, 2014, everything I did was done without her.”

She notes that she will be at the end of her pregnancy on the anniversary of her mother’s death. It also gives her a chance to put it in perspective. “What a world to tell my child about. What a decade my mother missed,” she adds.
