George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan’s daughters are part of GMA’s on-air tradition

With the end of 2024 approaching Good morning America looks back on what was a pretty monumental year for many of its presenters.

In the latest edition of the morning news show, anchors Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, George Stephanopoulos, Ginger Zee and Lara Spencer sat down to reflect on their year on the air.

Several moments were included in the recap, including major news stories, travel around the globe, pop culture moments, emotional highs and lows, and some memorable guest appearances.

However, part of the special even acknowledged that GMA the hosts’ family members, including the times they were featured or mentioned on the show, although these proved to be the most special to Michael and George.

While the show mentioned that George and his wife Ali Wentworth were celebrating 23 years of marriage, their daughters also happened to make special appearances on the show last year.

Back in January, 53-year-old Michael was accompanied by his 20-year-old daughter Isabella when she revealed in an emotionally charged conversation with his co-host Robin that she had been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor that is the most common brain tumor is children.

An excerpt from their conversation was played, in which she speaks tearfully to her fellow cancer resident Robin, while her father keeps her calm, tenderly holding her hand the entire time.

However, a much happier moment for Michael followed when a clip was played of his colleagues congratulating him on becoming a grandfather for the first time. Michael’s eldest daughter Tanita, 32, had a baby son named Onyx in September.

Another one of those GMA The offspring featured in the summary was 22-year-old Elliott Stephanopoulos, the eldest of George and Ali’s two daughters.

When George, 63, traveled to London in March and Princess Kate announced she had been diagnosed with cancer, Ali joined him so they could visit their daughter.

Elliott, currently a student at Brown University, was studying abroad in the UK and George briefly brought her on screen, calling her a “special PA in London.” She waved to the presenters and quickly disappeared from the picture.

Michael’s colleagues also congratulated him on becoming a grandfather through his daughter Tanita

Robin, Michael and Rebecca Jarvis in the New York studio fawned over her and giggled at her leaving the frame so quickly, while George joked that she “got shy really quickly.” She came back in and said a quick “Hello” before backing out of the screen.

“I decided to let her work today,” the father-of-two joked, and Rebecca quipped: “I hope she brought you some nice coffee, George.”

After the recap finally ended, the hosts in the studio cheered and clapped for the efforts of their production and graphics teams. Michael called it a “big year” and Lara added: “Oh, that was really fun. It always reminds us.” “We did that?” and the rest joked: “On TV!”
