The Yellow Jackets have shown remarkable resilience in what can only be described as a rollercoaster season. They pulled off one of the biggest upsets by beating Miami and played a thrilling eight-overtime game against Georgia in which they narrowly lost. Georgia Tech finished the season with a record of 7-5. The team is led by quarterback Haynes King, who posted an impressive 72.5% completion rate this season and threw for 1,910 yards, 11 touchdowns and just one interception.

The Commodores finished the season with a 6-6 record, highlighted by an impressive win over Alabama, the first such win in their series’ 40 years. All attention goes to standout quarterback Diego Pavia, who has shown his versatility by leading the team in both passing and rushing. He accumulated 2,133 passing yards and 716 rushing yards, with 17 total passing touchdowns and six rushing touchdowns.

Neither team finished the season particularly well, but Georgia Tech’s ability to control the tempo with King and running back Jamal Haynes mixing in downfield passes could provide the edge as Pavia Vandy to its first bowl win since 2014 would lead, but I’m happy with the Ramblin’ Wreck.”

Bryan Logan writes: “Georgia Tech is missing badly due to the transfer portal. First, they are missing receiver Eric Singleton, but they are also missing left tackle Corey Robinson. They are also missing two defensive starters. Vanderbilt is missing tackle Gunnar Hansen.” Well, it should be a close game since two teams are based on the quarterback’s ability to run. Still, Vanderbilt has the better defense this year and is better in turnover margin.
