Gilbert was named Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State men’s basketball Keshon Gilbert was named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after leading the Cyclones to a 2-1 record at the Maui Invitational last week.

Gilbert was named to the All-Tournament Team and averaged 20.7 points per game, including a game-high 23 points in a last-second loss to No. 4 Auburn in the opening round. He was one of three players in the country to average 20.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game last week and was the only one of the three to play 90 or fewer minutes.

The St. Louis native also scored a game-high 24 points and three steals in an ISU win over Dayton. In the final game of the tournament against Colorado, Gilbert scored 15 points and six assists.

Gilbert totaled 11 assists, six rebounds and five steals for the week.

Iowa State is back in action on Wednesday against Marquette. Meeting point at Hilton Coliseum is scheduled for 7:00 p.m
