Glen Powell goes undercover in the first teaser for “Chad Powers.”

Glen Powell had a pretty good year in 2024. However, one of his big roles in 2025 will bring him to the small screen. Hulu just released its first teaser for Chad Powersa half-hour sports comedy that Powell co-created with Michael Waldron.

In the series, Powell plays Russ Holiday, a former star college quarterback who goes to the NFL and has behavioral problems ruin his prospects. To get another chance, he adopts a new identity as Chad Powers and “enters a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers,” the official description says.

The first teaser for the series gives us a glimpse of Powell as both characters. The series is based on a 2022 sketch from Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and ESPN+ in which Eli Manning disguises himself as Chad Powers and attends a walk-on tryout for the Penn State football team. However, this sketch was only 10 minutes long, so creating a full series will likely require some elaboration.

The cast also includes Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson. The series is scheduled to premiere in fall 2025.

Powell’s star emerged in 2024 thanks to his starring roles in projects such as: Twistere And killerwhich proved he had the charisma needed to become a full-fledged movie star. However, Powell seems to know that, unlike decades past, there’s no shame in switching back and forth between star vehicles on television and those on the big screen.
