One person asked: “How long is this break? No contribution at all? I’ll miss you,” to which she teased with a wink emoji, “probably until 2025.”

Another fan added, “Aren’t you having GMA next week?” Ginger confirmed that she would as she was taking “time for family” and thanked Greg Dutra, Brittany Bell and Dani Beckstrom for their “help” during this time and made it clear who their successors would be.

The star also responded to more personal questions about her mental health, specifically asking how she stays “under control during this time of year.”

Ginger confessed that she “actually hit rock bottom last week” and had a checklist to get back on track. Her first rule was: “Identify it, say it out loud.” She would then “tell someone close to me” before settling on “consistent therapy, meditation and gratitude practice.” Her final rule was to repeat the phrase, “It’s temporary.”

This isn’t the first time the star has opened up about her mental health to fans, as she told People that she was diagnosed with depression when she was 21.

“In my darkest times personally, when my career was on the rise and everything was going, running was the therapy I didn’t know I had,” she said. “Many times it would break the isolation or give me that natural dopamine rush or whatever it was that I didn’t know I needed more than anything else.”

“I haven’t been able to really heal – because I didn’t have a proper diagnosis until about 11 years ago – but I think running has kept me above rock bottom many times.”

The meteorologist remains open with her fans, although it’s no surprise that she wants to stay cozy and intimate with her husband Ben Aaron and sons Adrian and Miles this festive season.

The couple said “I do” in a beach ceremony on Lake Michigan on June 7, 2014, celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Their son Adrian recently turned nine, while Miles is four.
