Five more Christmas songs feature in the top 10 this week; Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (5), Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” (6), Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” (8), supported by the megamix “Band Aid 40 2024”, “Merry Christmas” by Ed Sheeran & Elton John (9) and “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms (10).

Wicked continues to entertain audiences across the UK, while Defying Gravity, starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, spends a second week at number 7, while What Is This Feeling? rises to a new peak of number 16.

Elsewhere, Stromae enters the top 20 for the first time in his career with Ma Meilleure Ennemie, with Pomme moving up two to 19th.

Congratulations to singer and songwriter Lola Young who scores her first official UK Top 40 single with Messy (35), while Chrystal ensures The Days re-enter the Top 40 with a new peak of No.38.

There are other Christmas songs that go beyond the top 10, with a total of 21 in the top 40 today. The festive titles making the top 20 are: Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me (11), Kelly Clarkson’s Underneath The Tree (12), The Pogues ft. Kirsty MacColl’s Fairytale of New York (13), Andy Williams’ It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (15) and Shakin’ Stevens’ “Merry Christmas Everyone” (18).
