Grand View defense dominates in 17-0 shutout win over Northwestern to advance to semifinals

DES MOINES, IOWA – The number two seed Grand View University Vikings hosted number 11 seed Northwestern College in an all-Iowa quarterfinal showdown. The Vikings wasted no time striking early with a touchdown on their first drive. Their defense dominated throughout, posting their fourth shutout of the season and securing a 17-0 win to advance to the semifinals.

The Vikings’ defense was outstanding all night, holding the Red Raiders to just 218 yards of total offense, forcing two turnovers and not allowing an offensive touchdown on the three turnovers on downs (and 7-14 on 3s).approx downwards) and the limitation of the NWC to only 24:43.

The Vikings ran out the clock with a solid ground game to secure a 17-0 win, the defensive shutout’s fourth of the season.
