YORK. 518 AND ALL EYES ON OUR NEXT WINTER STORM COMING IN, ESPECIALLY TONIGHT AND OUR THURSDAY WHICH WILL BE ANOTHER IMPACT DAY. IT WILL START TONIGHT. We will have winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour, even starting this afternoon. BUT THERE WILL BE SOME SNOW TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. LOCALLY WE’RE LOOKING AT ABOUT 1 TO 2 INCHES, BUT THERE WILL BE SOME PLACES WHERE THERE ARE HIGHER AMOUNTS. We’ll get to that in a moment. But pretty quiet at the start. A FEW storms are trying to make groundfall here in the northern parts of Mercer County, but overall the air will be a little drier as you step out the door this morning. It’s pretty cold. Look at that wind chill. 18 THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS IN PITTSBURGH NOW. 17 DEGREE WIND CHILL UNIONTOWN, GREENSBURG AND INDIANA. 15 THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS IN NEW CASTLE. ALSO IN CRANBERRY, 13 IN BUTLER, 14 DEGREES OF WIND COOL IN WASHINGTON AND 12 IN WAYNESBURG. But overall we will watch the snow work its way back in. In addition, there will be gusty winds and a little snow. BEST CHANCE FOR ACCUMULATION IS THURSDAY, BUT WE WILL HAVE SOME LAKE EFFECT BANDS AFFECTING OUR DISTRICTS NORTH AND EAST OF CITY. I’m not saying it won’t cut through parts of Allegheny, but overall Washington and Greene look like you’ll be in the clear on Friday. BUT IT WILL BE COLD FOR ALL OF US SO THE FUTURECAST SHOWS ALL DAY. The clouds are really getting thicker. THIRD 4:00 AS SOME KIDS DRIVE HOME FROM SCHOOL IN ARMSTRONG, NORTHERN PARTS OF INDIANA, THEY WILL HAVE SOME IMPACT FROM SOME LIGHT SNOWFLAKES, AND EVEN AROUND 7:00 PM ALONG INTERSTATE 70 TO WESTMORELAND, FAYETTE COUNTY. But the majority of it will come after 8pm tonight, coming from the north-northwest. Note that our temperatures will be near 34 degrees. I do think there will be a little rain mixed in with some of this, even though it looks like it’s all snow. And then we’ll see it getting brighter at 4 a.m. Most of these snow showers will be in those higher elevations to the east, but we will still see a chance of some of these bands developing as early as seven 8:00. BUT IT WILL BE VERY CLOSED FOR THE REST OF THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON. Relatively quiet, but again breezy and cold. SOME OF THESE BANDS WILL BE SETTING UP ON THURSDAY EVENING AT AROUND 7:00 PM. ANYTIME WE HAVE A LAKE EFFECT, A BAND OF SNOW WILL QUICKLY REDUCE YOUR VISIBILITY AND PUT A QUICK COATING ON THE GROUND, SO JUST KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN WE START TOMORROW. LATE AFTERNOON, EVENING AND EVEN UNTIL EARLY FRIDAY. This is Friday morning, 7 a.m. Check out the band’s makeup as BUTLER ARMSTRONG and INDIANA. So that’s going to lead to some snow accumulation again. But all in all it’s 1 to 2 inches. AND THROUGHOUT THE CITY INCLUDING BUTLER PARTS OF ARMSTRONG AND LAWRENCE 2 THROUGH 4. BUT I BELIEVE MERCER VENANGO CLARION COUNTY COULD SEE EVEN HIGHER AMOUNTS AS THEY WILL ALL BE UNDER A WINTER STORM. LOOK AS WE GO INTO TONIGHT AND THURSDAY’S BREAKFASTS. So that’s your forecast for four days plus four more. We look at the major impacts of the storm starting this evening. Winds will gust up to 35 miles per hour. SINGLE DIGIT WIND COOLS LOCALLY APPROXIMATELY 1 TO 2 INCHES. BUT WE WILL HAVE SOME POOR VISIBILITY, ESPECIALLY WHILE BUILDING UP THESE BANDS. COOL INTO THE WEEKEND BUT DRY, WARM UP SUNDAY AND NEXT WEEK. We’ll be in the 50s, but that’s the way it is
