Hallmark+ adds Christmas movies in 2024 and gets next-day rights for 2025

Hallmark+ is making some major changes three months after its launch. The streaming platform was originally designed to stream separate content from the Hallmark Channel/Hallmark Mystery debuts, but that will change at the start of the new year.

Starting in 2025, all new Hallmark Channel original movie premieres and Hallmark Mystery will stream next day on Hallmark+. A dozen were added on December 17th, and 24 more were added on December 20th.

Hallmark+ members have access to over 40 original Hallmark holiday movies, including all 2024 holiday content from the linear networks. Hallmark currently has a deal with Peacock where the original Countdown to Christmas films will be available to stream for three days after they air. (That’s probably why “Trading Up Christmas” airs on December 19th and isn’t quite available on the app yet.)

In July, Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of programming at Hallmark Media, said diversity that Countdown to Christmas would remain a “linear experience” and the app content would be “separate and different from what is on linear.” But that has now changed, as many of the films from this year’s launch are already available in the app.

There have been a lot of changes at Hallmark Media in the last few months. In November, they announced that The Way Home would be moving exclusively to the app for Season 3 and would not air on the linear network. However, after listening to fans’ feedback, they decided to bring it back to the channel. It will stream the next day on Hallmark+.

On December 17, 12 new holiday moves were released on Hallmark+: “Following Yonder Star,” “The Christmas Quest,” “Santa Tell Me,” “Holiday Crashers,” “Five Gold Rings,” “A Reason for the Season.” , “All I Need for Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Run,” “Sugarplummed,” “Private Princess Christmas,” “Scouting For Christmas” and “Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle.”

As of Friday, December 20th, the following 24 new films will be available to stream

“Exchange for Christmas”
“Santa Claus Class”
“Hanukkah on the Rocks”
“Leah’s perfect gift”
“A Dance in the Snow”
