Hansi Flick sends a strong message after Barcelona’s latest come-from-behind defeat against Atlético Madrid

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick says he is not giving up on the title despite another defeat on Saturday against Atletico in La Liga.

Despite an impressive performance, the Catalans were overtaken by Diego Simeone’s side and suffered another defeat.

The result continues Barcelona’s poor run in La Liga, but Flick is in a defiant mood.

“We played against a team that had their chances and I think we played a brilliant game. We had chances in the first half. I am very proud. Although the result is sad, it shows that Atlético is an experienced team that expected it.

“I think our style was fantastic. I’m sad. I’m happy for Pedri and Gavi… and we’ll work on it next year. We don’t give up. This break is sad, but we will come back strong. The team shows that it can score more goals.

“We play football to win. The points lost against Las Palmas and Leganés are a thing of the past. We have to concentrate on the next home games, we have to win every game. We have to concentrate on the next home games.

“Now there is a break. Today we saw how we can play. This aspect is positive. I told the team that. We will show how strong we are after the break. We are very disappointed with the defeat, but life goes on. We celebrate Christmas and on the 29th we return to training and focus on what we can do.”

Flick has been absent from the sidelines for Barca’s last two games due to suspension, but will be back next time the team returns to action in 2025.
