According to MegaMillions.com, the jackpot is now an estimated $1.15 billion, with a lump sum payment option of $516.1 million, making it the fifth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

This Mega Million jackpot has now entered the top 10 jackpots for both Powerball and Mega Millions. It is the ninth largest jackpot of all time.

It is also an unusual jackpot.

According to Mega Millions, the jackpot has only been won three times so far in 2024, making it the lowest-winning year since the game began in 2002. In comparison, ten jackpots were won in 2023, the most in a single year since a major matrix change to the game in 2013.
