Hawkeye Women’s Basketball vs. Iowa State: How to Watch + Game Thread

Hate Week is here again and the women are leading the way when they host the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa is looking to get back on the right side of the win/loss column after its first loss of the year in its last game against Tennessee. Not only is it Iowa’s first game since the loss, but it’s also the Hawkeyes’ first home game since their win over Washington State on November 24th.

For the Cyclones, they come into the night looking to extend their three-game winning streak. What is noteworthy, however, is that this series took place against opponents who are not among the six strong opponents. Perhaps even more notable is that Iowa State enters the night with two losses. One in their only away game of the season at UNI and one in their only matchup against a ranked opponent.

The trip to Iowa City ticks both boxes as the Hawkeyes enter the competition ranked 21st nationally.

Iowa State is led by sophomore center Audi Crooks. The 6-foot-2 Algona native leads the Cyclones in both scoring and rebounding with 1.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting better than 58% from the floor.

In addition to Crooks, sophomore forward Addy Brown is also averaging 14.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. With the duo both over 6 feet tall and both filling up the stat sheet in the paint, Iowa’s posts will have their hands full.

Lucy Olsen leads the way for the Hawkeyes, scoring 18.1 points per game with 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists. She is joined in double figures per game by forwards Addison O’Grady and Hannah Stuelke with 15.2 and 13.8 points per game, respectively. Stülke also leads the team in rebounds with 7.4 per game.
