Here’s how to watch Nosferatu at home

One of the best things about Robert Eggers Nosferatu is also the most frustrating. Over the course of the film, the director gradually reveals the full appearance of Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok – which of course only adds to the horror of it all! But I left Eggers’ version of the classic Dracula story and wanted a good, in-depth look at Skarsgård’s transformation, mustache included.

What I’m saying is that I needed a damn pause button. So when is it? Nosferatu Streaming?

Well, Eggers Nosferatu– which also stars Lily-Rose Depp, Nicholas Hoult and Willem Dafoe – hits cinemas on Christmas Day. If you’re the type of person who can only watch horror movies at home, you’re out of luck (for now). Nosferatu The film grossed $11.5 million on Christmas Day alone, making it the second highest-grossing R-rated film released in theaters on the holiday. (A few little things for all cinephiles: The first film comes from 2012 Django Unchained.)

You still have to wait a bit Nosferatu to reach streaming platforms. The film will be distributed by Focus Features, part of the NBCUniversal umbrella. The best reference point for Nosferatu is the other player of this year’s awards season from Focus Features: conclave. The Ralph Fiennes-directed papal thriller premiered on October 25th, hit video-on-demand services on November 26th and landed on Peacock on December 13th. That means you can probably buy it or rent it Nosferatu Late January on Prime Video, Apple TV and more, then stream it on Peacock in early February.

Meanwhile, FW Murnau’s masterpiece from 1922, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horroralways cries out for a rewatch – or even a first watch if you haven’t seen it yet. You can stream it for free on YouTube. Trust me when I say there will be quite a few hits on Eggers Nosferatu all the more impressive for you.
