Here's how to watch Wednesday's launch

An early morning rocket launch may be planned for Wednesday – and depending on the weather and visibility, there could be quite a spectacle in the skies over the Space Coast.

Below are suggestions for where to watch the rocket launches around Brevard County and other things you should know. If there are any changes to the launch schedule, this story will be updated.

Where to watch the SpaceX launch in Brevard County?

Weather permitting and depending on cloud cover, SpaceX’s rocket launches should be visible from almost anywhere in Brevard County. And minutes after takeoff there is usually a rumble.

If there is a launch window in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, this is an opportunity for unique photos – the rocket lights up the dark sky and the contrail after it makes for a great photo.

When is the next SpaceX rocket launch in Florida? Wednesday, December 4th at the earliest: SpaceX Starlink 6-70

Mission: A 4½-hour launch window for a SpaceX Starlink mission will open early Wednesday morning, according to an advisory to the Federal Aviation Administration’s operational plan.
Start window: 3:29 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. EST
Location: Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Trajectory: Southeast.

Almost everywhere in Brevard you’ll get a view of the rocket launch – in certain areas you can get a breathtaking view of SpaceX’s rocket boosters returning to the launch sites. The best view to watch a rocket launch from the Space Coast is the beach. However, visibility depends on weather conditions and care should be taken not to block traffic or the right of way on bridges and to follow posted rules on beaches.

If you’re watching the launch along the Indian River in Titusville from Space View Park or Parrish Park, look east directly across the river.

If you are further south along the Indian River, look northeast.

Playalinda Beach or Canaveral National Seashore is the closest location to watch the launch as it runs almost parallel to Launch Pad 39A. On the beach, look south along the shoreline (you can even see the pad from some spots).
