Buddy Hield believes there is a Warriors 3-point record he can break.

Speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dalton Johnson on the latest episode of “Dubs Talk,” Hield was asked about Steph Curry’s supernatural 3-point shooting and whether he could break any of his records.

“If there’s one record that I don’t think (Curry) will break, it’s the fastest 3-point shot, I have that,” Hield told Johnson. “If there’s a record I can achieve, it would be most 3-pointers in a game.”

Klay Thompson set the record for most 3-pointers made in a game when he hit 14 of them against the Chicago Bulls on October 29, 2018. The impressive barrage of long-range bombs was nothing new for Thompson as Golden State was an offensive juggernaut.

Hield has turned heads since joining the Warriors in the offseason, adding a consistent long-range threat to an offense that was missing at times last season. In 19 games, the guard averaged 3.4 three-pointers per game while shooting 44.2 percent from distance. He leads Golden State’s bench with 15.3 points per game.

While the team is in a bit of a slump, Hield and the new additions from Golden State have helped the Warriors get off to a strong start.

Given his strong start to the NBA season, expect more long-range shooting from Hield as he continues to work with Golden State’s offensive plan. And on a particularly hot shooting night, he could challenge Thompson’s record for most 3-pointers in a game.
