How much snow has fallen so far? See totals

Snow is falling in parts of New Hampshire and the storm isn’t over yet.

While mostly rain was forecast in coastal areas of the state, 3 to 5 inches of snow was forecast in the rest of the state. Showers and squalls are possible this afternoon as a cold front moves in, the National Weather Service said.

Wind gusts are expected to become a problem later Friday, prompting a gale warning.

Which cities in New Hampshire have the most snow so far?

According to the National Weather Service:

Ossipee, NH had 3.5 inches of snow at 6:24 a.m. on December 5th
Wolfeboro, NH had 3 inches of snow at 8:18 a.m. on December 5th

Is there more to come with this storm?

According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning is in effect for parts of New Hampshire until 4 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6. Areas monitored include Bennington and Western Windham Counties.

“Travel will be difficult,” says the National Weather Service forecast discussion of the regions covered by the storm warning. “Areas where snow is blowing could significantly reduce visibility. The dangerous conditions will impact traffic this evening. Gusty winds could knock down tree branches. At times, up to 2.5cm per hour is falling along the Southern Greens.”

How cold is it in New Hampshire?

When the storm moves away later tonight, very cold temperatures will follow Friday and Saturday, Combs said.

“With wind chill, we could see temperatures in the single digits,” Combs added. “There is a lot of cold weather right behind this storm system.”

“The coldest air of the season so far is expected to spread across the Northeast, with gusty winds, snow packs and snow squalls that could lead to hazardous travel conditions through midweek,” AccuWeather said in a news release this week. “For millions in the Northeast, it could be the coldest start to December in over a decade.”

Maximum temperatures of 32 degrees are expected in Portsmouth on Friday and 35 degrees on Saturday.
