YouTube TV is a popular choice for cord cutters, and I’ve seen a number of price increases on the service. Despite the rising prices and the loss of things like regional sports networks, I have remained a loyal subscriber.

I noticed that even though YouTube TV is still missing some key channels, it still offers plenty of options to browse. I’m talking about dozens that I never intend to click on, and when I scroll to find out what’s on USA or TNT, for example, I have to go through a lot to get there. As it turns out, there is an easy way to prevent this, and you can do it in just a few steps.

YouTube TV offers the ability to hide channels you never watch. If you never plan on watching any of the ESPN or Hallmark Channel variants, you can hide them from your channel list and set them so you never have to scroll through them again. As an icing on the cake, the entire process only takes a few seconds and will be much better the next time you launch YouTube TV and go to change channels.

This is the best YouTube TV feature that you are not using

Now that I’m in the middle of the best sports season, I can’t miss a single game. Here’s how I use YouTube TV to watch multiple games at the same time.

How to get the channels back

Maybe you made a mistake

Once you get rid of the channels you don’t use, someone else may come along and miss what you’ve hidden. If they don’t have their own profile to log in to, they can restore these channels by following the same steps as before but simply switching from the custom profile. You can also go back to your list of hidden channels and make them visible again.

For example, if you want to watch a show on AMC, you can unhide the channel and then hide it again after the season ends.

Just because the channels are hidden doesn’t mean they’re gone for good. So you shouldn’t feel like you’re making a lasting change by doing this. Switching back and forth only takes a few seconds. You also have the option to change the sorting of channels by most popular or from A to Z. This is a good way to keep the channels you watch over and over again at the top. This drastically reduces scrolling if you don’t want to manually hide channels.

I wish I had known this was possible on YouTube TV years ago, but better late than never.
