As Heller described it Vanity Fair, Night slut is “a comedy for women and a horror film for men” that reflects the absurd and animalistic Truths about being a woman.

Adams plays a suburban stay-at-home mom called only “Mom.” A former visual artist, she now has to deal with the monotonous routine of raising her young son (played by twins Arleigh Patrick Snowden and Emmett James Snowden) while her husband (Scoot McNairy) is often away for work. She also begins to experience bizarre physical changes: hair growing in strange places, an increased sense of smell, and even signs of a tail forming.

“It’s about motherhood and anger,” Heller said Vanity Fair. “And you either understand that or you don’t.” Her script, written during her own experience of parental isolation during the pandemic, brings her raw, personal perspective to the story. “I wrote it after being isolated in my house for a year. It was a nightmare,” she shared Vanity Fair. Adams brings her own authenticity to the role, adding, “It felt so organic because there are a lot of days where I look at myself and think, ‘Well, that’s new.’ What is that?”

Night slut opened in theaters on Friday, December 6th. To find out how and when you can watch the film from home, keep scrolling.
