Hunter Biden reacts to his pardon

Hunter Biden has responded to his pardon with a new court filing.

He told a federal court that his father, President Joe Biden, had pardoned him for federal tax evasion and gun crimes.

“Joseph R. Biden Jr. granted me a full and unconditional pardon for, among other things, the offenses set forth in the indictment in this case,” he wrote.

“On December 1, I received and formally accepted the presidential pardon. I represent (or certify, verify or declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct.”

The document signed by Hunter Biden was executed in Washington, DC on December 1st.

President Biden announced Sunday that he had pardoned Hunter, who was awaiting sentencing after being convicted of tax evasion and possessing a firearm while under the influence.

“Today I signed a pardon for my son, Hunter,” the president’s statement said. It is a “full and unconditional pardon,” it says.
