I-25 closed between Colorado Springs and Denver | Traffic

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, all northbound lanes of Interstate 25 near Castle Rock are closed Monday morning.

I-25 is closed at Plum Creek Parkway near mile marker 180 after multiple crashes, the sheriff’s office said in a social media post around 10:15 a.m

The forecast

After weekend temperatures exceeding 60 degrees in Colorado Springs, a cold winter storm will bring significant changes to the area early this morning.

“It should still snow this morning, so we’ll have dry skies for the morning commute,” said meteorologist Alan Rose of Gazette news partner KOAA. “The snowflakes will then begin flying on Monument Hill between 7 and 9 a.m. and fill out the rest of the Pikes Peak region by the mid to late morning hours.”

The snow will spread further south through the afternoon hours before tapering off from north to south tonight.

“In addition to the snow, it will be significantly colder Monday,” Rose said. “Today, high temperatures will reach 30°C only in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, and mid to upper 20°C in Woodland Park and the Tri-Lakes area.”

Today’s high will be 29 in Colorado Springs, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

There will be some very cold temperatures behind Monday’s departing storm. Tuesday morning will start in the teens with wind chills in the teens in Colorado Springs. Highs on Tuesday will only recover a few degrees, peaking in the mid 30s.

“Starting Wednesday, there will be a return to near above-average highs, with end-of-week temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s in the Colorado Springs area,” Rose said.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 48. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 51. West southwest wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. West wind around 10 mph.
