On Friday evening, Barry Keoghan released a statement on X, formerly Twitter, urging people to be “respectful” following his split from pop star Sabrina Carpenter. On the same day, the actor deactivated his Instagram account, which he explained as a response to negative news.

In his post, Keoghan said: “I can only take so much. My name is being spread around the internet in a way that I don’t normally respond to.”

He said he had to come forward because “too many lines were being crossed” and he deleted Instagram because he “can’t let this stuff distract from my family and my work anymore.”

He continued: “Absolute lies, hate, vile comments about my looks, my character, my behavior as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine. “I’m dragging my character and everything I’ve worked extremely hard for and for I stand, elongated.

According to the Salt burn Stern, people “knocked on my grandma’s door” and allegedly harassed his ex-girlfriend Alyson Sandro and her son Brando and “intimidated” them outside their home.

“Every day I work harder to develop myself on every level to be the healthiest, strongest person for this boy,” he added. “I want you to remember that he needs to read EVERYTHING about his father when he’s older. Please be respectful to everyone.”
