India remembers former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh with iconic photos: 4 retro pictures on X | On trend

Dr. Manmohan Singh died on December 26 at the age of 92 due to age-related illnesses. The entire nation expresses sadness over his death.

Dr. Manmohan Singh, one of India’s most respected leaders and former prime minister, died on December 26. He was rushed to Delhi AIIMS after he lost consciousness at home and was later declared brought dead. The nation has plunged into mourning following his death, with many paying tribute to him on social media. Some do this by sharing iconic retro images of the leader.

With ISRO scientists:

“1978: Dr. Manmohan Singh meets ISRO scientists,” one X-page wrote while posting a picture. The photo also shows former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam.

I pay tribute to Rajiv Gandhi:

“Humble tribute on the passing away of former Prime Minister, esteemed Shri Manmohan Singh ji, an epitome of simplicity.” “The country has lost a great and visionary leader,” one person posted in Hindi.

The picture shared with the post shows Dr. Singh bending down to tie his shoes. It was reportedly taken while he was paying tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at his Veer Bhumi memorial.

In a series of photos, an X user recalled the time when the former prime minister visited Siachen base camp to meet Indian soldiers in 2005.

“The death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is extremely sad. He left this world after living 92 years. During his time in office he had shown this country a new path of progress! RIP #ManmohanSingh ji,” along with this heartfelt tribute, an X user shared an iconic picture.

AIIMS on the death of Dr. Manmohan Singh:

“It is with deep sadness that we inform of the death of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at the age of 92. He was being treated for age-related ailments and suddenly lost consciousness at home on December 26, 2024,” AIIMS said in a statement.

“Immediate resuscitation measures were initiated at home. He was rushed to the emergency medical unit at AIIMS in New Delhi at 8:06 p.m. Despite all efforts, he could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 p.m.,” the medical institute added.
