The Golden Eagles then went on a 10-0 run to equalize on the home straight. Cyclones didn’t manage a bucket in more than two minutes of game action.

Iowa State, which had already led early in the first half, is now tied with Marquette with less than a quarter of the game left to play.

The second half was pretty back and forth and neither team has really had any significant success so far. Through the first eight minutes of the half, Marquette leads the Cyclones, but by just one point, 14-13.

A fairly even start to the second half, with Iowa State only able to increase its lead by one point since halftime. Joshua Jefferson had four of the Cyclones’ eight points in the second half.

Keshon Gilbert leads all scorers with 18 points. Marquette is led by Demarius Owens who has 9 points.

Cyclones are shooting 64% from the field and 57% from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles are shooting 44% from the field and 44% from distance.

Iowa State committed five turnovers and scored six points from them. The Cyclones only turned the ball over three times and did not allow the Golden Eagles to score a single point through their errors. ISU led for over 16 minutes in the first half.

Keshon Gilbert narrowly misses a buzzer-beater, but the Cyclones still seem to have it under control even though the lead drops back to single digits.

Cyclones went into a bit of a drought shortly after the final media timeout, but came out of it well, scoring five straight points to extend the lead back to double digits.

Keshon Gilbert was fantastic in the second half. He has 14 points and three assists. Dishon Jackson had 8 points and three boards for Iowa State.

It’s now a double-digit lead for Iowa State, its largest of the night since it topped Marquette 9-5 after the final media timeout.

Keshon Gilbert led the Cyclones with 11 points. He made two free throws, one 3-pointer and four of his six field throws. So far, the Golden Eagles have only shot 39% on the night.

Marquette’s Chase Ross apparently went to the locker room with an ankle injury.

1H, 11:21 – Iowa State 20, Marquette 12

Cyclones have gone on a 12-7 run since the last media timeout. Iowa State’s defense stifled for extended periods of the final four minutes.

So far, the Cyclones are shooting 73% from the field while the Golden Eagles are shooting just 42%. ISU forced three turnovers while scoring four points. Marquette has also forced three turnovers but has yet to convert any of them into points.

So far, six Cyclones have scored. Curtis Jones leads with 5 points.

The start was a bit slow, but the offense is now getting rolling.

After the Golden Eagles took a 5-3 lead early in the game, Iowa State scored with consecutive long-distance shots, one from Curtis Jones and one from Milan Momcilovic.
