Jabeur wins two Player Service Awards; Furlan was named Coach of the Year

St. Petersburg, Florida. – Four more winners were announced as part of WTA Awards Week as the WTA honors the outstanding performers of the 2024 season.

Today’s announcement marks the WTA Coach of the Year and three Player Service Award winners:

Coach of the Year – Renzo Furlan

Renzo Furlan was named this season’s Coach of the Year (as voted by WTA registered coaches) for his instrumental role in turning Jasmine Paolini into one of the star players of 2024. Paolini started the year as a top 30 player, but by the end of her history-making season she had risen to No. 4 in the world after winning her first WTA 1000 title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in back-to-back Grand Slam finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon and qualified for her first WTA finals in both singles and doubles.

A former ATP player with a career-high ranking of No. 19, Furlan coached Paolini to three top-10 victories this season, in addition to her and partner Sara Errani winning the gold medal in doubles at the Paris Olympics .

Karen Krantzcke Sportsmanship Award – Ons Jabeur
Peachy Kellmeyer Player Service Award – Ons Jabeur

Ons Jabeur again earns double honors in 2024, retaining both the Karen Krantzcke Sportsmanship Award and the Peachy Kellmeyer Player Service Award, becoming the first player to win both in back-to-back years following her success in 2023. The two awards will be voted on by her fellow WTA athletes with the Karen Krantzcke Sportmanship Award, presented in recognition of Jabeur’s kind and considerate nature, his support for fair play and his respect for others on and off the court.

Established in 1977, the Peachy Kellmeyer Player Service Award recognizes her outstanding support of her fellow players and other initiatives on behalf of the broader gaming community.

Jerry Diamond ACES Award – Aryna Sabalenka

The ACES Award was established in 1995 in memory of former WTA CEO Jerry Diamond and is presented this year to Aryna Sabalenka for her work and commitment to promoting women’s tennis to fans, media and local communities through participation in off-court promotional and charitable activities to make known. Sabalenka’s important contribution to the advancement of women’s sports is recognized with this award and her name joins a prestigious list of previous award winners that includes Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina and most recently Jessica Pegula.
