Check your numbers for the Powerball jackpot, now worth an estimated $145 million in Saturday’s drawing.

Saturday’s jackpot increased because no one won the $124 million jackpot in the Christmas Eve Powerball drawing. According to the lottery, one lucky person could take home $65.7 million after taxes.

The jackpot was last reset to $20 million after a winning ticket worth $256 million was sold in New York on December 7.

In October, a lucky player in Georgia won the $478 million jackpot, and in August, a lucky player from California won the $44.3 million Powerball jackpot. The week before, a player from Pennsylvania won the $213.8 million jackpot.

How to play the Powerball

To purchase a $2 Powerball ticket, you’ll need to visit your local supermarket, gas station or convenience store – and in a few states you can purchase tickets online.

To play, you must select a total of six numbers to mark on your ticket. Five numbers are white balls ranging from 1 to 69. The Powerball is red and one number is between 1 and 26.

If you want to increase your chances of winning, you can add a “Power Play” for $1, which increases winnings for all non-jackpot prizes. This addition can multiply winnings 2X, 3X, 4X, 5Xor 10X.

Players can also ask a cashier for a “quick pick,” in which the cashier gives you computer-generated numbers on a printed Powerball ticket.

The drawings take place on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. If there is no jackpot winner, the cash prize increases by millions.

Tickets can be purchased in person at gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores. Some airport terminals may also sell lottery tickets.
