Jamie Foxx was injured by glass after the comedian was reportedly involved in a brawl at a Beverly Hills restaurant

Jamie Foxx was injured after someone threw a glass that hit him in the mouth, his representative said, amid reports the comedian was involved in a fight at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California.

The altercation occurred at Mr Chow’s home just after 10pm on Friday. Beverly Hills police said officers initially received a call about a “possible assault with a deadly weapon” but concluded it was unfounded, a news release said.

“Instead, the incident resulted in a physical altercation between the parties,” police said.

A preliminary investigation was conducted and police prepared a report documenting the alleged battery. There were no arrests.

A representative for Foxx said he was celebrating his birthday at the restaurant when someone at another table allegedly “threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.” He turned 57 on Friday.

“He required stitches and is recovering. “Police have been called and the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement,” Foxx’s rep said.

The incident follows the release of Foxx’s Netflix special “What Had Happened Was” on Tuesday, in which he revealed that he suffered a brain hemorrhage last year that led to a stroke. Foxx said he underwent surgery at a hospital in Atlanta and then underwent rehabilitation at a facility in Chicago.
