Enjoying carols and carols is one of the best parts of the season, and Jennifer Hudson, Smokey Robinson and Halle Bailey adequately decked the halls with their emotional rendition of the holiday classic “Silent Night.”

Before NBC A Motown ChristmasCo-hosts Bailey and Robinson joined the former Agree Coach Jennifer Hudson talks about the exciting holiday special on the December 11th episode of her talk show. Robinson – former lead singer of The Miracles and hit producer for Motown Records – is no stranger to a dynamite gig. His rendition of “Silent Night” alongside Bailey and Hudson took the Christmas carol to a new level. All three singers could sing the phone book and perform a hit song, so seeing the soulful singers perform the timeless holiday hit was a truly unique moment that even caused Hudson to laugh at the opportunity.

“Silent Night” has delighted holiday enthusiasts for over two centuries, and countless artists have performed their interpretations of the beloved Christmas song over the decades. Hudson, Bailey and Robinson played in homes around the world every year, delighting audiences from the moment the piano began playing. The explosive combination of Robinson, Hudson and Bailey successfully brought a new lease of life to the track – a testament to the group’s collective vocal prowess.

Hudson opened the performance, choosing a slowed tempo for the carol before Robinson took over in the second verse. Bailey then grabbed the mic and delivered her signature runs, instantly sending shivers down everyone’s spine.

“Take your time, girl!” Hudson exclaimed excitedly, taking on the next verse with angelic grace. The song’s tenderness allowed the singers to really feel the music and enjoy the simple beauty of the melody, culminating in a truly mesmerizing performance.

Needless to say, listeners were completely in awe of their collective sound and raw performance.
