Jesse Ventura remembers his greatest contribution to wrestling

– During a recent interview with the Bill Simmons Podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura talked about his greatest contribution to pro wrestling and being the first wrestler to force former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to sign an agent negotiate. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):

Jesse Ventura on Vince McMahon: “I have no relationship with him. Not really. Nothing.”

Ventura on his greatest contribution to wrestling: “When I was inducted into the Hall of Fame, they asked me what I thought my greatest contribution to professional wrestling was. I think I shocked everyone, and I know I irritated Vince and Linda (McMahon), but I said, “I think my greatest contribution to wrestling was the fact that I was the first wrestler in history who got Vince McMahon to negotiate with a manager’s agent.’ (Hulk) Hogan never did. Hogan took care of Vince. Hogan had a Hollywood agent. I was the first, and that came about because of Predator.”

When McMahon said he couldn’t continue working Predator: “He told me I couldn’t do it, so I gave up. I did Predator, and while I was doing Predator, Arnold (Schwarzenegger) said, “In September I’m going to do Running Man. There is a part you are perfect for. Would you like to do that?” I said, “Hell yeah.” I negotiated “Running Man” first and then went back to Vince. Do you know why that was? That gives you FU money in your pocket, and if he doesn’t do what I’m happy with, I tell him, “Stop it, I’m doing Running Man in the fall.” I’m doing well. I have another big movie with Arnold.'”

As previously mentioned, Ventura will be on commentary for the WWE Saturday Night Main Event this weekend. It is scheduled for Saturday, December 14th at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. It will be broadcast live on NBC and simulcast on Peacock.
