Jets WR Davante Adams becomes the 12th player to reach 100 TD catches in his career

Davante Adams rekindled his extraordinary connection with Aaron Rodgers to historic proportions, at least for one more Sunday.

Adams teamed with Rodgers in the third quarter of the New York Jets’ Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars to give the six-time Pro Bowl receiver the record-tying 100th touchdown catch of his career.

A play Rodgers saw frequently during their time together. He found Adams on a goal-line fade from the 1-yard line, giving the Jets a 17-16 lead after an extra point by Anders Carlson.

Adams is just the 12th player in NFL history to reach the 100-TD milestone, although he is the second this season after Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers achieved the feat in Week 7.

Adams, Evans and Hall of Famers Tim Brown and Steve Largent all rank ninth all-time in career touchdowns.

This isn’t Adams’ only rise in the rankings, as he has now caught 80 touchdowns from Rodgers, passing the Pittsburgh Steelers tandem of Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown for fourth place in the league’s chronicles.

Of course, most of these TD contacts occurred when the two played for the Green Bay Packers.

Now wearing a different shade of green, the two have combined for four TDs since Adams was acquired via trade from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite being part of a Jets season that fell far short of expectations, the 31-year-old Adams and 41-year-old Rodgers provided some highlights and history for at least one week.
