Joe Burrow’s house was broken into during Monday Night Football

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has become the latest star athlete to have his home broken into during a game.

The break-in occurred Monday evening at Burrow’s residence in Anderson Township, Ohio, while the quarterback was in Texas taking on the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”

According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, a 22-year-old woman who works for Burrow called 911 around 11 p.m. after arriving at the home to find a bedroom window broken, the room ransacked and several items missing .

There was no indication of the value of the stolen items or what exactly was taken from the house.

Burrow is just the latest in a string of sports stars to have their home broken into recently. At the beginning of October, the villa of Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes was broken into, and less than 24 hours later, Travis Kelce’s villa was also broken into. The latest collapse occurred when the Chiefs faced off against the New Orleans Saints in a home game.

In the NBA, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis and Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mike Conley Jr. have also reported slumps in recent months.

In a November memo obtained by The Associated Press, the NFL issued a security alert saying professional athletes’ homes had become “increasingly targeted by break-ins” and urged its players to take extra precautions to protect their property to meet.

The NBA said the FBI linked at least some of the break-ins to “transnational South American theft groups” that are “alleged to be well-organized, sophisticated rings that utilize advanced techniques and technologies, including pre-surveillance, drones and signal jamming devices.”
