Jordan Binnington in goal as the Blues visit the Flames

CALGARY, Alberta – A day after being named to Team Canada’s squad for the four-nation clash, Blues goaltender Jordan Binnington will start for the Blues on Thursday night in Calgary.

Binnington is coming off two strong games: a 32-save shutout in New Jersey last week and a 28-save performance against the Flyers that gave the Blues a point on Saturday. In his last six games, Binnington posted a .925 save percentage and a 1.97 goals-against average.

“It’s an everyday league,” Binnington said. “We’ve been 3-0-1 since Monty took over. “That’s great and you can tell the energy is good and the practices are competitive. That’s where I want to be and compete.”

Forwards Pavel Buchnevich (lower body), Justin Faulk (upper body) and Nick Leddy (lower body) were on the ice for the Blues’ optional skate in Calgary. Blues coach Jim Montgomery said the team would find out more about their status in the afternoon.

Since the Blues had an optional skate, the following scheduled lineup is based on Wednesday’s practice.

Brandon Saad – Robert Thomas – Jake Neighbors

Philip Broberg – Colton Parayko

Ryan Suter – Matthew Kessel

Pierre Olivier Joseph – Scott Perunovich

Scratchers: Alexandre Texier, Pavel Buchnevich (lower body), Justin Faulk (upper body).
