Keira Knightley’s matchday outfit consists of a streaky maxi dress and boots

It’s often assumed that a classic game day look must include a team jersey or scarf, some sort of baseball cap, sneakers, and practical pants—usually jeans suitable for sitting on the beer-covered, fold-down stadium seats. But no, Keira Knightley doesn’t adhere to these restrictions.

This Sunday, actor and husband James Righton joined the crowds of fans at a soccer match between Como 1907 and Roma at the Stadio Comunale G. Sinigaglia in Como, Italy. Always a picture of sophistication, Knightley eschewed a sporty and casual look for her look, opting instead for an ensemble that could easily be taken from the office to the cocktail party.

The essence of the look was a white crinkled maxi dress with an abstract rose print in graphic black at the bottom. Strands of glittering fringe emerged from the flowers, adding texture to the piece, and white strings flowed from the hem of the dress, giving the impression that the entire ensemble was unraveling.
